Mark and Reward Training

If you are familiar with "Clicker Training", then the concepts and techniques of Mark and Reward training are already familiar to you.  Mark and Reward training is a scientific approach to dog training that incorporates the principles and tools of Clicker Training with canine behavioural research.  The result is a training style that is not confined to behaviours or training sessions but becomes a way of interacting with your dog on a day-to-day basis.

Mark and Reward Training is not new.  It is a collection of well documented and well researched material.  It is based on books by Jean Donaldson, Pamela Reid, Patricia McConnell, Karen Pryor, Morgan Spector, Ian Dunbar, and many others.  While trainers are encouraged to look into this source material, Mark and Reward Training seeks to condense the relevant information and present it to trainers so that they can become more knowledgeable and effective trainers.  Once a trainer understands some basic principles of animal behaviour and behaviour modification, a new world of possibilities opens up for both trainer and dog.

Hilltop Dog Training is pleased to offer weekend, evening, and customized training in Mark and Reward/Clicker Training for groups from 5 to 15 working participants.

Private individual instruction is also available.
